The HOP! TV channel was established to give young children an oasis of calm, quality viewing in the desert of regular TV programming. The Israeli channel HOP! is specially geared to offer educational viewing for children ages 2 to 8, broadcasting daily between 5:00AM to 8:00PM, to over a million and a half households nationwide. HOP! also have a global presence (Singapore, Romania, Israel and others).
Because TV has such an impact on the social and psychological development of young children HOP! selects only the highest level programmes from around the world for broadcasting to their young viewers. HOP! TV shows contain absolutely no violence, whether physical, emotional, or verbal. They have content that is specifically suited to the cognitive and emotional abilities of young children. They provide positive role models for emulation, and offer a calm relaxing environment, without any hyperactivity or yelling. They encourage active viewing, and empower children by fostering a belief in their own abilities. They also motivate children to play an active role in their communities. Its therefore no surprise that HOP! have chosen to adapt learning programmes from the Helen Doron Educational Group for TV.
Helen Doron is pictured here signing with HOP! owner Tamir Paul. Helen explains, We will be producing two TV series scheduled to be created in winter 2010, each comprised of 26 short episodes. One programme about Ready-Steady-Move, our movement with language brand for children ages 3 to 8 the other programme will be an animated Didi the Dragon for ages 2 - 7. The project manager for these two programs will be Ella Doron.
