The following optional tours are available to conference participants and accompanying persons.
The tour price includes transfers by coach, English speaking guides and entrance fees.
The tour to Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad) also includes lunch.

Prague – Grand City Tour 

This city tour will introduce you to an account of Prague’s historical monuments, including the Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, St. Nicolas Church, State Opera and National Museum.  Your journey will start with a short panoramic coach ride through the city centre, from where you will then ascend to the Prague Castle. Follow this with a brief walking tour around the Castle courtyards and a visit to St. Vitus Cathedral.  After transfer to Lesser Town and a walk over the famous Charles Bridge, the tour will end with a trip to the Old Town Square, where you will view the famous Astronomical Clock.  Transfer back to the hotel.

Tour B: Konopiste Chateau

Konopiste is an impressive hunting castle, set in the beautiful countryside outside Prague.  The castle dates all the way back to the 14th century, refashioned first in the late Gothic style, and again in the 17th century using the late Renaissance style. The 18th century saw the incorporation of the Baroque style into the Castle. The Castle houses a huge collection of historical weapons, furniture, paintings, tapestries and hunting trophies.

Tour D: Jewish Prague

The tour will begin with a walk through the Old Town of Prague.  At the house where Franz Kafka was born we will enter the Jewish Quarter. Here you will be introduced to the history of the original Jewish ghetto and to the oldest synagogue in Middle Europe - the Old-New Synagogue.
The tour will continue with the following sites, which form part of the unique Prague Jewish Museum complex:  
The Old Jewish Cemetery:
Established in the mid-15th century, this cemetery served as a burial site until 1787.
The Pinkas Synagogue:
This synagogue is a Holocaust memorial to 77,297 victims of the Holocaust. The museum also stores a heart-breaking collection of children’s art from the Nazis concentration camp, Terezin.
The Spanish Synagogue:
This Moorish style Synagogue houses a vast historic silver collection and more.
The Maisel Synagogue:
This neo-Gothic Synagogue replaced the Renaissance style synagogue, which was originally built by Maisel and later destroyed by fire. This Synagogue represents Jewish life and history in Bohemia and Moravia.
The Klaus Synagogue:
This Baroque building, near the cemetery entrance, houses a permanent exhibition of Jewish customs and traditions.

Tour E: Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad)

The world renowned spa town of Karlovy Vary, along with its architecture, dates back to the 19th century. Karlovy Vary is famous for its 12 thermal springs and is beautifully located on the river Teplá, in a picturesque forested valley surrounded by hills. Visit the glass exhibition at the Moser factory and walk along the colonnade with its magnificent houses and the Geyser (Vrídlo), the hottest among the 12 mineral springs. The renowned Jan Becher herb liqueur, known as Becherovka, and sometimes nicknamed the 13th mineral spring, has been produced here since 1805. The town is also well known for its exquisite porcelain and glass production.
